The Club

The SFU Tennis Club has been established since 1975. The tennis club is formed by tennis enthusiasts including students, staff, faculty, and alumni. The club was mainly run on a recreational basis. With a healthy increase in members and dedication from enthusiastic executives. Club is dedicated to providing the students of Simon Fraser University recreational and competitive tennis year-round and a chance to meet other tennis enthusiasts, but most of all HAVE FUN! All levels of skill are welcome, from beginners to aspiring Agassis and Williamses.

Facility

During the summer, the SFU Tennis Club plays at the 4 outdoor courts at the SFU Burnaby Campus, just below the Terry Fox track. As for the fall and spring semesters, the SFU courts are used, but subsidized indoor playing at People's Courts when the weather gets worse.

Programs

A variety of instructional programs are offered by tennis pro Patryk Piaseczny at the SFU Tennis Club, these include: private and semi-private lessons. Also year-round, there are weekly to tri-weekly recreational playing times. Also, throughout each semester, there are tournaments, ladder, socials, lessons, and other activities. Currently, all events are inter-club events, but SFU Tennis is looking into joining a competitive league for sometime in 2004.
